Masculine Birthday Resessed Card Center - Sweet Stamp'n Challenge

This is a card which I am entering into the Sweet Stamp'n Challenge for a masculine card.
I thought I would try an idea which I saw a bit ago, and here is what I came up with.  I believe I saw this on Split Coast Stampers.  They are an excellent resource center for the truly serious card maker.

The front of the card was kept fairly plain as I do not many men who are fussy about frills.  The centr of the card is resessed and the small piece of metal work is placed there along with a metal key and brads in antique colours.

The inside both top and bottom are again simple to match the exterior.

Here you see the die cup piece which was place both for decorative reasons along with the fact that it covers the recess which pops to the inside.

Feeling in the Pink

I had so much fun with the folding of the last card that I thought I would try a variance on the type of card.

The front of the card appears the same as the last one.  The differences are only visible once you open the card itself.

As you can see only the triangle opens and not the complete square as did the previous card. This was accoplished by simply adhering the triangle to itself.

Here you can see the view of the card with the sides partially opened.

It Seems that LOVE is in the Air for Sure.... Birthday Sundaes Card Challenge #45 - Get Messy Birthday Card

Well deciding what card to do today for the Birthday Sundaes Challenge #45 was easy, as we just heard friends of ours have gotten engaged, while celebrating a birthday.  So congratulations are required all around.
They are on a boat in the Caribean at the moment.  That is apparently where the question was popped.

This is the card all closed up and the sides of the cards folded in.

This is the image which I chose to mount onto the back inside of the card.  You see this once you unfold the card.

This is the sides of the inside of the card.  Kept fairly simple. no sentiment I felt was needed.
Supplies used for this card are as follows:

Liquid Pearls by Ranger  - Opal White
Rhinestones from my stash in round and heart shaped Two Wedding Laces from my stash
Glossy Accents by Ranger
Therm O Web Tape
Scor Tape
Heart Shaped Brads
Flourish Brads in Silver
Bazzil Card Stock in both creamy white and a champange
Spell Binder die Lacy Oval
The stamp is Penny Black  "Stuck on you"
Ranger Embossing Powder in Clear
Stickles by Ranger in Red
Color Box Ink
White satin Ribbon from stash
Copic Markers to colour the image
The Sentiment Stamp is from my stash, origin unknown

The card was fun to do.  It starts out with your choice of a piece of card stock three times longer than it is wider.  In my case, I used fifteen inches as length by five inches of height.  Since I did not have casrd stock fifteen inches long, I took two pieces 5 x 10 inches and overlapped them for the back section.  Scor the piece at 5 and 10 inches.  Now you have to decide which way you folded sides will flow.  I scorred mine from the top left to the bottom right of the first and third sections of card.  You should now be able to fold the front (left hand side) section upward towards the center and the third section downward towards the center section.  Once you have this you simply decorate in the fashion you desire.  I cut creamy white card stock 1/4 inches smaller and mounted it on all the section on the inside and the outside which is seen once the card is closed.

I took Liquid Pearls in Opal White and white washed the cream card stock.  As I did not want the bulk of the brads I simply removed the legs and mounted them to the card with Glossy Accents.  The image is mount using Pop Dots and was decorated using Liquid Pearls again. Small rhinestones shaped in hearts were placed onto the hearts in the image as well.  Additional rhinestones were place at the corners on the inside.  The plain red brads were coated with a beautiful red Stickles.

The front of the card is layered and then I attached it using demensionals only to the left side of the front, enabling one to still open the card.  A satin ribbon was attached using Scor Tape across the back and threaded under the front sentiment, and tied at the side of the card, thus holding it closed.

Well I hope I have remembered everything.

Wee Things Are What Matter.......In Life

Once organized work is very easy and Fun is GREAT......

I recently was fortunate enough to have been given plans to make an ink organizing station for my craft area.  Well I have found a second use for the same unit. and thought I would shae this with you.

This units plans were from Afdish of Split Coast Stampers.  Thank you again to her for the plans.
During my organizing I discovered I like the same unit for my ribbon organizing.  Below see the pictures.

Here is the unit partially assembled.  Take about 5 minutes to put it all together.

Here is how I was organizing my ribbons.  But found that these little units wanted to move about too much for me.

So I removed the acetate sleeves from the ribbon organizers and turned the ink organizer on its side and voile.  Once has a great ribbon organizer which has great display and easy access for the ribbons as well.

The acetate sleeves can vary in their width in accordance to the width of your ribbon.  I plan to make another organizer with different heights of the shelves to accomodate some of my wider ribbons and laces.  Gotta love organizers.  They sure do make life easier.

Both the ink storage and the ribbon storage ideas were found at Split Coast Stampers.

Sweet Stampn Challenge SWEET AND SIMPLE

Good Morning,
Today we are doing a new challenge for myself.  Sweet Stampn's Challenge of SWEET AND SIMPLE
You would think that simple would be easier than some complicated, multi layered card.  WRONG

I found that one had to achieve all the same things with the use of a great deal less.  Balance, depth, demension, and most of all appeal.

I have done a sympathy card for this one.

The supplies I used are as follows:
Bazzil Card Stock in Black and White
Glossy Accents  by Ranger
Liquid Pearls by Ranger  - White Opal
Cuttle Bug Embossing folder from the "Love is in the Air", set.
Memento Ink
Pop Dots
Scor Tape
Black Satin Ribbon 1/2 inch from my stash
A bobble from my stash
A butterfly stamp by Magenta

This is the card in its' initial construction, before I used the Liquid Pearls and Opalized it.

Here you can see how the card took on demension with the White opal add overall.  The card is not ivory in colour, it is still a true white.  I had to distort the light, enable to show the effect for you.

Here is a close-up of the embossed area for you to see.

Thank you for stopping in and reviewing my card.  Don't forget to check out Sweet Stampn and the cards created for this challenge by their design team.

Sundaes Birthday Challenge # 42 - Karens Doodles

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Time sure flies when you are having fun.  This card for Birthdays Sundaes Challenge #42, was a great deal of fun for me to create. I found my mind racing to do different things as they came into thought.
The card which I have created is a Zig Zag Fold, is 6 x 6 inch size.
The sponsor for this weeks challenge is Karens Doodles, who has great images and other products as well.

The supplies which I used to make this card are as follows;
The Image is from Karens Doodles and is called:  Herbert Birthday Cupcake

Copic Multi Liners
Uniball Signo - White
Spell Binder Die  -  Labels One Small S4-308
Glossy Accents by Ranger
Therm O Web adhesive
Scor Tape
Pop Dots
Liquid Pearls by Ranger  - White Opal and Baby Blue
Stickles by Ranger  -  Yellow,  Star Dust, Orange Peel, and Turquoise
Buttons by Dess It Up  - Tiny Stars
Resin Candles from my stash
Twine by The Twinery in Turquoise
Felt Demensional Stickers by Jolee's Boutique
Papers were from   -  Basic Grey (Picadilly), Lime Rickey(Tart and Tiny), and The Paper Company Studio(Paws and Claws)
Bazzil Card Stock in Navy Blue

The construction of the card was fairly simple.  I took a 12 x 12 inch piece of card stock and cut it into two strips 6 x 12 inches.  Scored each one at the 6 inch mark.  Then adhered the one on top of the other to create a zig zag shaped card.  That is your base.  Applied the various layers of different papers.  I created a sentiment using Memento Ink and a rubber stamp, the origin which I can not remember.
I coloured two images of Herbert the turtle.  One image was then cut out using a craft knife and the other had pieces cut out and applied in a raised fashion using Pop Dots.  The one image was then worked from behind with my stylus in the area of the turtles shell to as to give the shell  a demensional value.  Herbert was then glued onto the blue paper which was cut out using the Spell Binder die. This unit was then adhered to the base of the card with Pop Dots.  The items which I cut out of the second image were the cupcake on its plate, and the individual flower heads in the grass.  Make sure that you take the multi liner from Copic and color the edges of the images which you have cut out to give them a finished look.

I applied a dot of White Opal Liquid Pearl to Herberts eye to highlight it and once dry I took Glossy Accents and highlighted the black pupil of his eye.

I used the various colours of Stickles to highlight the hat and its ribbons on top along with the center of the flowers and the icing of the cupcake.

Glossy Accent were used on the plate to give is the appearance of china wear.

I took the second image of the cupcake and my stylus and from the back I worked the icing part of the cupcake to give it the rounded appearance one would expect of such a yummy thing.  The cupcake unit was mounted over top of the original image using Pop Dots, doubled in the center and single along the outer edges, so as to keep the round appearance.

Three of the flowers were adhered over their original ones with Pop Dots and the other two were demensionized with the stylus and adhered using Glossy Accents.

Three glitter stars were added in the lower left corner, and three resin candles were added under the top cupcake but ontop of the base image.

The felt letters were layered with the various papers and adhered with Scor Tape and four glitter button which were tied with Twinery Twine were added.

Finally I applies Liquid Pearls around the from of the card and along the sides and the top of the inside in blue.

That my friends is how this came to pass.
Thank you for stopping by my blog.
